The Auburn Police Department is proactively responding to several package thefts with Operation “Porch Pirate.” Detectives and Officers are conducting surveillance of frequent package theft areas in hopes of catching these thieves.
This morning, detectives observed a man and a woman in a car stop and take a package from the porch of a house in the Lakeland Hills area. Detectives followed the car, which ended up coming back as reported stolen. They arrested the couple, recovered the stolen car, and will be contacting the owner(s) of other property located in the car.
