The Timberon community room at the Timberon Lodge (next to Nan’s) is being used until August 26th to hold donations.

Update: August 1st, 2016

On Saturday the 30th, a group of 6 volunteers worked all day
moving and organizing the Otero County donations to and inside the Timberon Lodge. 110’ of clothes racks were built
and clothes were sorted, hangered and hung on 90’ of those racks (another 60’ willbe built next weekend). Additional tables were added to the “food bank” and filled with loads of food. All of the donations that were coordinated and gathered at the Alamogordo Library were brought up and added to the Timberon stash by that set of volunteers. The donations at the Cloudcroft Fire Station and Otero Sheriff’s Dispatch office are still due to be sorted.

In addition to this Otero group, there was an independent
group of volunteers out of Texas who brought donations from West Texas, Mississippi and Oklahoma. They had approximately 3
heaping truck loads of donations when they arrived and gave away about half of it throughout the day (the remainder was donated to the stash at the Timberon Lodge). They also accepted $635.00 of
individual donations which was added to the pot generated by the day long fun filled activities at the Timberon Golf Course.

That, combined with the crowds of enthusiastic and generous
Otero County locals, a heavy rain shower late in the afternoon, all contributed to a fantastic day in Timberon!

The next volunteer day is scheduled for Saturday the 6th and
will leave the Cloudcroft Fire Station at 11:00 am. The majority of this group is coming from Holloman and more helpers are welcome!
